July 27, 2014, 09:52 PM posted in ChinesePod Mobile AppsNot sure if I am using the app wrong, please tell me if I am being slow and just can't see the right button. I am doing accuracy checking of my pronunciation, and I want to record and then listen to my own voice in the vocab and full sentence section. I recall being able to do that in an older version , but now I can't seem to be able to find the button. Can someone help me find what I am doing wrong?

hi, gwilymjames878251118, thanks for the reply!
yes, that's the function I want, record and then playback , while comparing to the official sound. I think I see it now, thanks again!

it works for dialogue and expansion, but is not possible for vocab, it seems. Good thing I care more about whole sentences, so, yay!

Good stuff. Yeah I think recording a sentence is a lot more useful because Mandarin is all about the flow and how the tones go together. Can I ask if you are using iOS or Android?

Using iOS app, now ready to do some detailed a/b comparison of 4-5 character-long sentences

July 28, 2014, 11:00 AMYou should be able to access the record feature within the Dialogue/Expansion/Grammar/Tasks tab. Press the chinese words, and you should get a dropdown menu. On there you will see a microphone. Hit that and start talking when it turns red. You can then replay what you said by hitting the "Play back" button.
I hope this answers your question, but if not, then just let me know and I can try and help you more.
