Anyone want to create a meetup group in Taipei to study Chinese, share experiences, eat good food, etc.?

Once we get some interest, we can decide on a good time and location to meet, eat, and have some fun!

I started a group for people who live near Albany NY. I did this to help create a support network for those people who live near me. It has been pointed out that chinese learning goes smoother when it is put to immediate application, so therefore we could do meetups at which we could practice what we are learning.

Hi Taiwan poddies! How about a meetup in Taipei? I will be visiting family at the end of April though the first week of May. I know Calkins is in Taipei. Who else? It'd be fun! 我们大家去吃反把！

Wouldn't it be great to meet up with your fellow poddies once a month?  Wouldn't it be great to travel to some of the many picturesque towns and scenic spots on this 'Beautiful Island'?  Eat some Chinese food, absorb some culture, practice our Chinese, etc....all the things we love?

Taiwan is a small island.  With the high speed rail, and all the other efficient means of transit here, we have no excuse not to!

I'm thinking we could coordinate something monthly or bi-monthly.

If anyone is interested, please let us know on this thread.  Once we get a decent response, we can discuss our first destination and details.

I'm hoping we can get at least a handful of poddies...it could be a great time.

Anybody out there from the East Midlands, UK, who fancies getting together to speak Chinese? A bunch of us learners and a few Chinese speaker friends from the Leicester/De Montfort Uni Languages@Leicester Chinese classes have decided to organise an informal meet-up group to get together and practice spoken Chinese.

We thought about going with meetup.com, but it's a bit pricey. So I've set up a site called ZhongWenLeicester.org. It's fairly basic, and you need to sign up (it's free, and run on a volutnary basis - and always will be) - but it's a way of making connections locally so that we can get together.

PM me, or contact me thorugh ZhongWenLeicester if you want to join us. Our first meeting will, naturally enough, be in the Phoenix cafe/bar in a couple of weeks' time.
