I am glad there is a site just for suggestions!

Having just returned from China, one of the problems I had was reading the information signs on buses, trains, and shops.  Also It would be nice to understand the announcements on planes and in airports.  Is there any way of:

1. gathering a vocabulary related to these activities

2. doing a "hungry traveler" type of lesson / video / discussion?

For example, arriving at an airport and checking the boards for arrival and departure times, gate, etc.

Traditional Chinese Version:

When you want to buy book in the book shop, you can use the following words:

你好 Hello

想 want

買 Buy

書 Book

多少 how much / how many

元 dollars

錢 money

例子example:

Q:你好,我想買這本書,請問多少錢?

Q:Hello, I want to buy this book, how much is it?

A:三十元

A:Thirty dollars.

Note:

In the example, 本 is the quantifier of the book. 1本書,2本書,3本書...

請問 means "may I ask". It can be cancel in the sentence. But it is more polite if you use 請問 to ask question.

If you haven’t been to http://www.Just4Deal.com yet, go check it out. Basically, the idea is that they post the latest deals they finds on the web and lists them in chronological order starting with the most recent. These deals often involve things like multiple rebates or are special promotions, meaning you can get some things incredibly cheap. You can also sort and search for freebies, rebates, coupons, and regular offers. There’s always something you can get for free, so it’s always worth checking out some extra useless office supplies, USB keys, etc.
