放鸽子 is a figure of speech meaning to stand someone up or cancel plans. I love that one. I've read that it comes from the use of messenger pigeons; the idea being that if you release a pigeon, you're sending word that you'll be late. Good stuff. :)

Thanks, Steve! That means a lot. Do let me know if you're ever in Taiwan. I'll buy ya a beer...or 5. :)

Thanks, Phil! As far as I know, there's no more Mitten representation in the office. Hopefully that will be remedied in the future though. ;)

Thanks, Jenny! Don't worry, I'll be taking my Dongbei personality across the strait with me. :)

Complete coincidence! As far as I know... haha I suppose it probably falls under the subconscious category then.

I'm actually not 100% on where I'm going yet! I've applied to and been accepted at a few places. There's a good chance I'll be in Taichung or Tainan for a year first, but if and when I end up in Taipei (likely for a masters), I'll be at NTNU.

Haha, I didn't mean to sound harsh. I promise. :) Thanks for the support!

And yeah, David is just great. No question about it.
