Heh, I remember trying to get QQ when I first came to China. I was in a small town and so desperate to make some Chinese friends - I'd picked up a stack of numbers already. After a few weeks, I finally managed to get one of my students to patientally help me sign up... After that I used it a grand total of once.
Maybe I'd have used it more if I'd have had a computer in my apartment... I wouldn't be surprised if I'd have been the only laowai laoshi in the country without one...
