This is so useful! My fiance always says, "Ni kuaile jiu hao," but every once in a while he says "Ni gaoxing jiu hao" instead. He couldn't explain to me why he used one over the other, but now I'm going to pay close attention to the contexts he uses them in to see if I can figure it out! :-)

Vocabulary is dangerous! I was practicing using pei2 today, and I asked my boyfriend, "Ni shenme shihou yao pei wo?" And he burst out laughing. It turns out pei2 has a pretty strong sexual connotation if you don't clearly specify the context!

I really confused my boyfriend with this one...I asked him if we could give out xitang at our wedding and he didn't know what I was talking about. It turns out that in Taiwan people only give out xitang *before* the wedding, when you're inviting people. He'd never even heard of giving it out during/after. Too bad, because that would be a really cute favor!
