when i lived briefly in 西安 there was a street vendor who sold the most divine pancake sort of things, but they were more a puff pastry, rolled with pork mince and cabbage and then deep fried. have totally forgotten what they were called.

i once had a women at the checkout at a 人人乐supermarket in xi'an (god bless ren ren le) try to convince me that i was 美国人,and that she couldn't accept my money. i'm not sure why, 我是 澳大利亚人, and i was holding a 10 yuan note out to her at the time!!
