June 3, 2009 at 5:39 AMMy son lived in Shanghai for 3 1/2 years, working as a jazz musician. After he'd learned enough mandarin to act as a tour guide, he invited us to visit him. It was a wonderful trip, and I wanted to be able to go back some day, and be able to communicate with people.
