Even when Motown's deep soul suffers-- she stubbornly refuses to be extinguished Anyways, yeah I am here in Shenzhen salivating for those jewish bakeries, best Arabic food outside the middle east, pazki (punch kees), and Allan Park apple strudel. April 30, 2007 at 6:36 AMExcellent work as always, just a little nit picking (我很挑剔!) In the "excercises" section, starting at the end of the "就" secion, the Hanzi is aligned to the wrong line. And the last audio file = ? I only mention all this because I know you guys/gals are perfectionists

April 29, 2008 at 5:49 AM你好CPod朋友们 抱歉，我做挑剔点但是。。。 我记得那时候我第一次来中国， 我也说过，“...会说中文吗？”。 It was met with laughter, and even a little bit of scorn. Do people actually say this? I have been repeatedly told that this is a blunder for a few reasons: A). 中文 refers to the written language, and therefore is not spoken B). would be like saying, do you speak American? We are assuming, since the dialog uses hanyu pinyin that the speaker is talking about Mandarin (汉语) or Standard Mandarin (普通话), although Chinese (中文, if we can translate it as such) would include all the many languages and dialects of China. Particularly because many 华人 often speak 白话（粤语），潮州话， 客家话，or other dialects. Is there any truth to this or am I in left field with all this? Thanks for clearing this up for me...
