Hi,  I just wanted to comment on a couple of good translations for the first and last proverb:

#1 活到老学到老 - Live and learn.  (We actually use this quite a lot in daily situations.  Something unexpected happens, and you can say "Oh well, live and learn!")

#3  不经一事不长一智 - What doesn't kill me makes me stronger

Is there a mistake with the phrase 食衣住行?  My Chinese tutor tells me it should be 衣食住行。  Thanks!

In a recent "Qin Wen" lesson, they explained the difference between "fu" and "Jiao", saying that we should use "Jiao" (缴)for paying for obligatory items, especially ones paired with "Fei" (费)。However, in this lesson, the dialogue uses "Fu" for "Paying the Property Management fees".  Why is this?  Isn't it better to use "Jiao"?

Thanks!

Hi, I'm finding the foreign co-host for this episode a bit painful to listen to. He sounds a bit stiff and unnatural...and the Chinese host has to kind of pull him along. I hope I don't have to listen to many episodes with this guy...
