February 18, 2008 at 3:44 PMA tough choice. On the one hand, Amber's overtures to the "short & fat" demographic will certainly gain her some support. But on the other hand, Clay has demonstrated superior fiscal responsibility in his discussion of beverage prices. I don't know if either candidate has enough 'electability' for a clear win. It seems that both candidates are divisive. I think what the ChinesePod electorate needs now is a Uniter. My vote goes to Jiao Jie.

December 24, 2007 at 12:16 PMI like the Taiwanese word for "software". I guess if you have friends who are good programmers, you can start calling them "Mollusk" (软体动物, software animal) ChinesePod must have some good 软体动物 because every lesson is like a shining pearl.

December 19, 2007 at 1:30 AMNice lesson, I especially liked the explanation of the '的‘ sentences. Is there a word for the opposite of a “夜猫子”? Maybe a “夜老鼠“ is someone who stays at home with a cup of tea and good book?

December 2, 2007 at 3:02 PM早安C-podders, This is my first post. I think you all have done a great job with the website. I love ChinesePod! Nice lesson. It reminds me of noshing on 油条 on crisp summer mornings in 大连. I also remember 喝'ing 豆浆. I called it "O danny boy" because it came in a plastic cup that featured a picture of boy named 'xiao dan dan' (小单单?). Even better (in my opinion) was a hot drink that tasted like peanut-flavored soy milk. I wish I could remember what the peanut milk was called because I thought it was delicious (很好吃)! Perhaps my favorite breakfast item was a spicy omelet that had something like a crunchy tortilla in the middle and hot sauce. I called it "huevos zhongueros" (like "huevos rancheros"). Almost every day I would go to my favorite breakfast place, 'the window', and order a "鸡蛋"， one of the few words I could knew at the time. Ah, 早餐在大连！

March 10, 2008 at 6:11 PMNice lesson, this cleared a few things up for me. I was just listening to the 'sudoku' upper-intermediate lesson. Near the end of it I think Jenny says something like '因为在中国学校里面会学太多的数学，大家可能数字都一点怕了‘. Now it makes sense to me! Does ‘怕’ have the same 'feel' as ’不喜欢‘? Is ‘怕’ used for minor annoyances which are tolerable, while ‘不喜欢’ is used for true dislikes? For example, if I say '我怕苦瓜‘, is it the same as '我不喜欢苦瓜'?
