I understand that 姐姐 jiějiě is also a way of addressing a female friend/ companion or is this derogatory? 

 

一般称呼比较年轻的女性为 小姐 但是小姐也可以是蔑称

称呼年龄比较大的女性为 大姐

数字确实很有趣

在中国大家比较喜欢8 不喜欢4 不过这种观念在改变 大家已经不那么在意了

还有大楼一般没有第18层 而是17A 或者别的名字
