January 16, 2009 at 7:18 PMI am sad that Amber won't continue her podcast because I LOVED listening to it and learned SO MUCH. I do hope that ChinesePod finds someone else to take over the giant hole that Amber has left.
Having said that, Shanghai's loss is now New York's gain. I went to visit the ChinesePod headquarters last year in November and was disappointed I did not get to meet her in person. Now that she has moved to my neck of the woods, I hope I will have another opportunity.
New York rocks. I made my big move many years ago and have not regretted it for one second.

November 30, 2008 at 5:15 PMI just got back to NYC last night flying American Airlines from Shanghai transiting through Chicago. This lesson is very useful. I am so happy I visited ChinesePod in person and got to meet Ken, Jenny and Lynn, my personal Chinese instructor. I was very starstruck!

December 27, 2007 at 4:59 AMHilarious topic guys. I loved John's rendition of a girly girl. In my imagination, he is also tossing his hair and gesturing wildly with limp, effeminate hands. :-) Like the other students, I will have to listen to this discussion many times to understand the nuances because it's mostly in Chinese. Keep up the great work.

December 1, 2007 at 8:54 PMLiving in New York, we also have issues with crowded subway cars. The only thing is, pushing is not recommended here, unless you want to pick a serious fight!

November 23, 2007 at 11:58 PMHi everyone. I am very happy to be joining this community. Does anyone know how soon I can expect an instructor to contact me? I just signed up for 10 minutes of daily conversation practice. I'm so excited!!!

March 8, 2009 at 3:54 PMHello Bababardwan,
thanks for the animated gif. It's very cute. Where did you find it? It's a pretty good likeness although my eyes are not green, :-) I actually love to wear tube tops like that.
I had personally never tried pole dancing, but I have heard it's a very popular exercise among middle to upper class women in China.
I've been told that belly dancing is more popular than Yoga in China. I just finished a 2 week tour through Harbin, Beijing and Shanghai and will be heading to Hong Kong and Guangzhou in May.
I really miss the Dear Amber show too. In the near future, I hope to catch up with her in person in New York, now that she has moved to my 'hood.
