I really get annoyed that you don't tell people what the joke is. not even in the discussion. this is not the first time. aren't we all learning Chinese here? its like telling a Chinese person a knock knock joke and not explaining it. very annoying. I had another lesson recently and it was a joke one and I asked my Chinese teacher/ oh it was the one about gifts and why men and women get different gifts or something like that and they end the lesson without explaining it and even my Chinesepod teacher didn't know why.....and the discussion doesn't tell either....pointless....

Amber and Jenny,

what is your opinion re: half Chinese ABC's....are they considered Chinese? I'm a half and so is my hubby but he looks way more Chinese...I just look white....although i very much identify with Chinese...I don't always feel like people or family see me that way....but my hubby doesn't speak a lick of Chinese and he often gets called Jackie Chan by Americans :(

What do you think the Chinese people's  attitude is towards the halfies?...there are lots of em in the States, especially California.

I kinda answered my own question but I want to hear what you all think...

Thanks,

Priscilla

Can you all do a lesson on the sound effects that you do for Chinesepod? I would find that VERY interesting.

I grew up in Chicago and was always told that it was named the Windy City b/c some dude architect was pissed off at the bureaucratic tape there and meant that the govt there was full of wind. He designed some building shaped like an armchair and faced the 'back' of the chair away from the city...I can't remember what building that is tho... But it is kinda windy at times I must say. Now I live in Cali - much better weather, but Chicago has such cool stuff going on there - I totally miss it. Great improv scene.
