I loved how you guys did a little review from the previous lesson too, I find this progressive learning style with a little link between the lessons really useful. Wonder if that could be incorporated in future lessons. Makes you feel like you're actually sat there with two teachers who know you :)

March 22, 2016, 03:13 AMI learnt it as 'a moment' or 'for a short while' but I think sometimes its also just used as a softener so an expression doesn't sound so harsh or commanding.

May 07, 2015, 05:33 AMHey crew at ChinesePod, unfortunately I'm finding that the (new?) actors have been just reading the script, their voices have become rather monotone and the acting unbelievable, in recent podcasts.
The tone of the actors voices is so important because students learn such a lot from context. Its really important to believe the situation. The whole essence of ChinesePod, the way I see it, is that students learn via situational contexts. Tone of voice is probably the most important tool there is to creating this context.
You guys pay these actors and they represent ChinesePod. Could someone have a word with the actors to add some more BELIEVABLE emotion to their voices?
If I come across as menial I don't mean to. Anyone who frequently listens to the dialogues will know how helpful it is to learn words and sentences in context, and how much harder it is to learn words said in a flat and monotone voice.
