大家好! Another fine lesson. It seems it left me with a question, however... One of the lines in the dialog gave me some trouble. I am wondering if my modified version here is right: 大家都是中国人,干吗只说英语? (I'm trying to say this: everybody is Chinese; as if they would speak English..) 谢谢 in advance

Hey guys! This gave me answers to questions I didn't even have yet. Thanks a lot! I have a suggestion for a qingwen that is in a different vein than what you have discussed here so far. I took a Mandarin class awhile ago. The text book was from Beijing, and every so often the teacher would mention that some word or phrase was common up north but not in Shanghai. Perhaps you could shed some light on common differences? (For example, most of us know Shanghainese say 那里 instead of 那儿.) This is not the most critical part for learning the language, but I am sure I am not the only one who would prefer to speak the local variation of Mandarin if possible.

大家好! This is my first time commenting. I looooove the show. Anyway, in your grammar feature of this lesson, you talked about the difference between 只要 and 只有. This was very helpful. I'm wondering if someone can tell me if I can use 只有 in this way: 我只有五块钱. (That is, I want to say, "I only have five yuan.")

Hey Chinesepod - I love you. From what I can tell, this is the only lesson to address haircuts. How about making a higher level lesson on this topic? This lesson gets us started, but it doesn't quite "cut it". (My apologies for the bad pun.) I would like to know some more specific phrases that get into details, such as "take more off the sides than on the top," for example.
