hi everybody,

my great great grandfather from my father side (paternal) was from China, until my father is about 5 generations already. my grandfather from my mother side was from china and my grandmother is javanese.

they were imigrated to indonesia.  now i live in indonesia, my nationality is indonesia.  few years ago i went to china to learn mandarin.  most of chinese in china mention me as "indonesian", the funny things is when i am in indonesia, i and other people mention me as "chinese". sometimes i feel that i am a stateless person. it little bit confusing, so i rather said that i am "indonesian chinese overseas" or 印尼华侨.

for most indonesian chinese and indonesian my face is confusing too, some of them said my face is chinese face and the other said my face is indonesian face. people often underestimate me because of this. someone abused me because of my face!

i think most chinese in china don't know about this matter (chinese overseas) expecially the younger chinese.in my school, which is 3 languages school, indonesian, english and mandarin.  the mandarin teachers are native chinese.  one of them asked me, whether the student are overseas or indonesian.  i said of course overseas chinese, there are no indonesian in chinese school.  chinese overseas matter is crucial in indonesia, the root problem is as auntie68 mention on her post above.

the overseas chinese will bring their own culture that sometimes different from chinese culture in china mainland and different from other chinese overseas in other country.it mixed with the local culture. here, i found many variant of chinese culture, for example in wedding ceremony and chinese new year etc.

so i rather said that i am a indonesian chinese overseas.

dear,  billm

It's ok. whatever you eat, it is your right. this is just discussion, a comment only. never mind.

dear,    pulosm

i am not sentiments to someone who eats dog, i didn,t judge either. i just give a comment, i know maybe little bit over react (i am sanguine).you no need act like that too.  if i have chance become a vegetarian, i love vegetables ,i rather choose a vegetarian (for me, it is look like a choosy-eater, it will be not convenient).

and based on research, human should be an herbivore, because we have long intestine. so i hope we eat more  vegetables  than meat.

for our earth now, better plantation than farming.(i am sorry, i am concern about our enviroment)

i hope this debate about "the dog meat's eater" will stop here. Go back to the discussion about "Instant Noodles".

for billm

I was upset to when I heard you eat dogs, I have some dogs and I love dog! They really understand you! My dog always follow me everywhere around the house. He sit next to me now, his face so cute and innocent! How could you eat it ?

Your  wife believes other dogs know when you've been eating dog meat.

It's true, my mom said dog meat is good medicine, it can cure injury faster. When my cousin got accident, my mom buy dog meat for him. When she brought it home, one of our dog was  barking all the time, she acted like she meet another dog! my mom give our dog the dog meat a little bit, the barking dog didn't want eat it and the other dog ate it!

You know, not all chinese people likes to eat all kind of meat, the southern part of chinese do, such guangdong, or xiang gang (hong kong).  They eat monkeys, snake, kind of turtle etc. The other part of China I don't think so, because mine is not.

and changye in Elementary - Hungry Traveler: Hong Kong post this :

中国人是什么都敢吃。天上飞的除了飞机,地上跑的除了汽车,水里游的除了潜艇,四条腿的除了桌子,两条腿的除了梯子,一概通吃。中国人不但敢吃,还很会吃。

so, chinese dare eat everything. Everything that can fly except airplane, everything that can run on earth's surface except car, everything that can swim on the water except submarine, everything that have four legs except table, everything that have two legs except ladder and sweep the deck. Chinese not only dare to eat , they really really can eat !

I hope this is close translation.

you can find the button on the task bar, bottom right, you can see "EN" for english and "CH" for chinese, you can swicth.

you can use this language in most of the program (the compatible one for this option )

for example in this discussion, for the chinese you click "CH" 你好!  , "EN"    Hello !

The input for this is hanyu pinyin, you know this, right? the chinese romanization, type and then you can choose the character.

for billgloveruk,

I know this is rather late, but I just found this discussion, so I hope this recipe will help, for others too.  Honestly I haven't tried this recipe by myself, still have no time.  And in my place, we can find it every where, every time, morning, noon especially in the evening, the good quality (rather expensive, you can choose with the filling too, shrimp and chicken, hemmmmm yummy) and the standard one.  Here we count it as snack, which you can eat every time.

for billgloveruk, if you have make it, please don't forget to send to me some  :) (joke)
