"The tone for yi threw me yī lóng I thought that before a second tone (lóng) the yi would take a fourth tone Actually in the dialogue the guy sounds like he's using the fourth tone for yi" Well, thanks for the feedback /sarcasm off I have just been to the world-famous Yung Ho dou jiang for a late breakfast. I ordered xiaolongbao and it's definitely: yì lóng and not yī lóng Any comments?

Is there any difference between a 籃 lán (which we know from basketball) and a 籠 lóng (which I now know from this lesson) ?

Someone screwed up here. Nobody speaks that fast in China, especially in a language lesson! Ridiculous! If the excuses above are correct, why aren't all the dialogues spoken at this speed?

The guy in the dialogue is trying to break some kind of record? Why the hell is he talking so fast. I thought this was an Elementary. Ahh, sometimes . . .

The "actors" don't sound like real people. They are obviously over-acting to such an extent that the dialogue sounds ridiculoius. If you go outside and mimic this. you'll be laughed at. I am reminded of those crumby soaps on Chinese tv. Over-acting at its best (or should that be worst). Just speak naturally, please

Isn't 青 (qīng) turquoise? It's a word that can be used in people's (girl's) names right?
