Can you please add in all the vocabulary, and all song lyric excerpts in the dialogue section? Thanks!

Hi.  I enjoyed the lesson, but the audio quality is not as good as it used to be.

Fiona has left Chinespod all the way back in the end of December, 2017. Where have you been all this time for you to not know this by now?

Very good lesson!  I enjoyed this lesson completely focused on learning Chinese characters.  Good job, Grace!

I agree with everything that Llorente said about this lesson.  When we, as paying customers, are giving critical feedback to a company we're not doing that with the intention of being "harsh" or "mean".  We're doing it because we want ChinesePod to know that the level of quality of their lessons are not up to the standard that it used to be, and therefore, fails to live up to the standard that we expect from them.  Llorente gave statements regarding what he felt was lacking with the lesson, followed by an example to back it up.  How is that being harsh?  Being harsh is saying "This lesson isn't good", and failing to provide reasons to back up that statement.  What's also harsh is insulting someone's English grammar, which is a totally irrelevant argument.

I've been a subscriber to ChinesePod for many years now, all the way back to when John, Jenny, David, and Dilu were here.  When Fiona, Gwilim, and Constance took over, I was surprised at how much they improved ChinesePod.  Fiona has left big shoes to fill for the new hosts, and it's going to take some time for them to get better.  The best word of advice I can give Grace and the new team is to look back and thoroughly study the previous ChinesePod lessons so that they know exactly what ChinesePod is in order to provide the kind of lessons that we expect from ChinesePod.

Hi Grace.  The tone for 绩 is fourth tone.  Please refer to the ChinesePod lesson Lao Wang's Office 3: All Call for Innovation where Jenny and John discuss 业绩.

I totally agree with everything you said.  The new team needs to thoroughly listen and watch all the old ChinesePod lessons to better understand how to produce a quality lesson.

Congratulations to the new hosts for their first lesson!  I'm so happy you finally have hosts!  I'd like to provide some constructive criticism for their first video.

I liked that the topic for the lesson is complex, interesting, and relevant.  What I didn't like was that there was no thorough grammar discussion, or discussion on key idioms/expressions in the dialogue.  There should be a line by line analysis of the dialogue that's relevant to the upper-intermediate learner.  Also, for upper-intermediate level, the discussion should be almost completely in Mandarin.  In this video, it was just a discussion of the topic with just some of the vocabulary.  The video needs to be much longer than this.

I hope the new hosts learn from ChinesePod's older lessons, and implement their structure of teaching in order to make their lessons live up to the ChinesePod standard.

I consider myself Intermediate level, and I can understand everything Fiona says. I think having English subtitles when Fiona speaks would be distracting, and will prevent you from getting the full language immersion. If you're having difficulty understanding Fiona, I don't think you're at an intermediate level just yet.
