I was unable to argue against this, but maybe it was the right thing anyway (10 yuan in BJ). Ah taxi drivers!

And by the way, many, but not all of the international flights out of Beijing are out of

It depends on the city. Like Prezellogic says, you have to pay in Beijing. But it's free in Shanghai.

 Jenny, thanks for your comments. The lessons have been more than helpful for me to communicate with my associates & friends in Dalian rather than using an interperter. Will put my last 6 months of lessons to the test this week, have two of our Chinese friends visiting us here in Australia, so will be trying out all the new pharses I have learnt on them.

But I guess it wouldn't do for cpod to have dialogues like, "when your manservant Jeeves, forgets to bring your laundry in from 5 star cleaners, how do you admonish him?"
