Prettiest girls in China

November 08, 2007, 08:44 PM posted in General DiscussionI was watching the travels of Paul Merton through China (TV show: Paul Merton in China) and when he is in Chongqing the local lady mentions that there is a saying in Chongqing that the ladies are the most beautiful on all of China...
Paul Merton then talks to his interpreter about whether this is true and she says that every city have the prettiest girls. I find this pretty amusing so I thought I would ask my friends from China and they do pretty much say the same that the prettiest girls are from their home cities! Only one of my friends said 'what type of girl do you like?'.
So I wonder whether any of you have the same experiences or maybe you would like to suggest where you think the prettiest girls are?
Personally I think everywhere there will be very beautiful girls.

November 10, 2007, 04:41 AMHow about this "real" event that was related to me recently: A village was renowned for the beauty of its girls. Seemingly the gods have blessed the girls of that specific place with good looks. But gods, well, they give and take away... Because one day, there was a celebration of some kind where everybody got together. The girls were doing a local round-dance when all of a sudden a storm hit and the girls who were dancing in a circle, holding hands, were struck down by lightening. All of them died. The general opinion was that the gods intervened because the village and the girls became too 骄傲, too stuck-up for their own good.. The village is said to be in a Jiarong-Tibetan area in the north of Sichuan. I never checked if the incident - of a group of girls killed by lightening - did indeed happen.

November 12, 2007, 12:51 PMI've noticed that as well - nearly everyone says that the best looking women are from their home city. My standard response is - if that is so, where are the attractive men in China? One of my students (who are all first year university boys) said that men in China are not that attractive. Fun.
