Anki - How to import the pinyin?

Hi all.  I'm finally getting round to trying Anki for the flashcard exports.  I've managed to get Anki to import my CPod vocabulary list, but it only seems to have imported the Hanzi and English.  Is there any way to also import the Pinyin, such that I can get all three to show on the Anki flashcards in the same way that all three show on the CPod flashcard function?

I've tried a search for Anki on the CPod search function, but it only turned up one old news & features, so hopefully some kind soul can quickly reply to this post!

thanks, Chris

Hi Chris -- my guess is that this is a matter of how your Anki deck model and card templates are set up.

Does your deck model have three fields -- one for hanzi, one for pinyin, one for the English translation?

In the deck model, are your card models for recall and recognition both set up the way you want to display all three fields? For instance, here is how my basic card templates are defined:

For the Recognition card template, one side shows the fields for the pinyin and the hanzi, the other side shows the field for the English and the hanzi.

For the Recall card template, one sides show the field for the English and the other side shows the fields for pinyin and hanzi.

Thanks for the reply QiuXiang. I've actually managed to find a very useful blog post by John P back on 18 March 2009 (on the blogs.chinesepod.com website) that has a very simple step by step guide to how to do exactly what I commented on above. Will try it out later and hopefully it works! Thanks again for your input as well. Chris
