Jason: So, you use or utilise, right, your long-weekend or short-vacation time to go to Nanjing alone

Jenny: 嗯

Jason: But we can break that down and make it a little easier for you

Jenny:

Jason: 利用

Jenny: 对

Jason: So, what's the difference between 利用 and 用?

Jason: Ah, so you're taking advantage of an opportunity, right?

Jenny:

Jason: Oh, that's my favourite thing, right

Jenny: 嗯

Jason: So, many famous foods and many famous things to eat there

Jason: Ah, OK. So, it's not necessarily over the weekend, but it's a shorter vacation time. It's not a week, it's not like 春节 or something like that, right?

Jenny: 对

Jason: It's just maybe 2 or 3 days

Jason: So I think if we break this apart into two pieces it's easier to understand, right. First part, 历史 is history, right?

Jenny:

Jason: So, 4th tone, 3rd tone

Jenny: 对

Jason: OK, so the second part is 名城, right

Jenny:

Jason: So, city

Jenny:

Jason: Ah, famous

Jenny: 对

Jason: So, we have history famous city

Jenny:

Jason: OK, so like a place or a city that's famous for its history

Jenny:

Jason: OK, so a city that is famous for its culture

Jason: So, this guy thinks the scenery is just OK, right

Jason: Right, OK. So it's different than 用 because you're, it's emphasising right, that you're using something to do something, you're taking advantage of an opportunity to do something

Jason: OK

Jason: So, in the West we have this idea of a long-weekend, right?
