is there a 请问 or other lesson based on "getting somthing". I know the words that include 受到 or 得到, but using these seem a bit unnatural, is there a better way of saying "to get" as a verb????? Better yet is it explained in a lesson??????

Sangletian,

But "get" what?  The word "get" is highly idiomatic in English, and can mean many, many quite different things. I recommend rephrasing what you want to say using a verb other than "get" (for example, do you mean "receive" or "buy" or "become" or what?), and then translating that into Chinese.  It will be much easier.

I also confuse these often... are my examples below correct?

I want to get a degree.

我想得到一个学位。

I forgot my phone in the car. I have to run and get it.

我忘了我的手机在车里,我回去拿它。

I hope to get the next promotion.

我希望得到下一个晋级。

I don't get it. Can you explain it one more time.

我听不懂,请再说一遍。

Go get a job, then we can talk about marriage.

你一找到工作,我们就能商量咱们结婚。

你用的动词都对!英文的'get'在中文里有很多不同的说法,主要是看跟它搭配的名词是什么。
