As the year ends, it's time to round up your favourite lesson(s) of 2010. Mine is a recent intermediate lesson: National Stereotypes.

What's yours?

Jenny...I would agree on your choice of favorite lesson....certainly a topic which generated a lot of enthusiasm.

I would like to add that I truly miss the Shanghai-hua lessons from the distant past...those series are like treasured gems for me....I wish we could have more of these as an adjunct to our Chinese learning experiences.

Happy new Year to all.

I have learned the most, both culturally and linguistically from some of the recent media lessons, even if they have taken a turn into the morose: old men left to expire on the street, toddlers run down, corporal punishment ...

The 李探长 series should probably take the "creatively and well written" award for the year.

Qing Wen should get the "light listening old stand by" award,  and BST "best new show".

Couldn't agree more about the Qing Wen taking the "light listening" award... I always use it for this purpose as well.

I agree with your round-up totally - I have had a similar experience.

National Stereotypes was an absolute winner. It was a relatively simple lesson but was full of potential follow up discussion. I had such laughter trying to discuss this in Chinese. Brilliant!

Thought I'd 頂 a sister post by Baba, with a bit more focus on the community, from some weeks back (I agree with him it's 2011 now actually and will be 2012 in days!).
