Do you use Anki? Take a look at my deck. Now 10,000+ words

I've been reading Chinese versions of the NYTimes and BBC as much as I can and input words individually. After a while, they add up:

Wow, nicely done and well organized. So are you actively learning all 10,000 words? How many words do you need to review each day to keep up, and how long does it take?

I'm up to about 5,000 active words in Anki. I learned a bunch recently, and now it's taking about 40-50 minutes a day just to clear out the queue. I'm hoping that drops back down again once the time durations start spacing them out a bit more.

I'm not really using Anki in the way you're supposed to. I do use the SRS aspect of it, but use it more for to keep a history of the words I'm learning.

When I use the SRS aspect, I'll quiz myself by categories. There is no way I'm actively learning 10K words at once but I find it useful to know when I first encountered a new word and to learn words associated with something, say names of politicians or tech words.
