John: Hey everybody, this is ChinesePod, Intermediate lesson today. I'm John.
Jenny: 大家好，我是Jenny。
John: And today we have a lesson for all you business people out there, especially the ones who are looking to start companies in China.
Jenny: 如果你想自己创业，对不对。创业。
John: 创业 means 'start a business'.
Jenny: 对。Especially start your own business.
John: OK. Two 4th tones.

Jenny: 对。创业。创业。So if you are an entrepreneur and you want to start your own business, maybe you also want to look for a 合伙人。合伙人。
John: This is a business partner.
Jenny: 对的。
John: The tones on that are ...
Jenny: 合伙是第二声和第三声。It means to 'partner up'.
John: Then you add 人 on the end and get a 'business partner'.
Jenny: 对的。
John: We're definitely going to hear that word in the dialog. Lets listen.
Jenny: 好。

John: Looking for a business partner.

John: That means 'what kind of business are you doing?' or '... are you going to do?'.

John: 'Online education', literally 'network education'.
Jenny: 对。网络其实在中文它有这个＇network infrastructure'的意思。但是它也也是＇online＇的意思。

John: And the word for education again?

John: 负责 - 4th tone, 2nd tone - that's a verb.
Jenny: 对。意思就是to be responsible for。
John: Or to be in charge of, or to run. In this case be in charge of ... what?

John: Product manager. Someone has to be in charge of the product. So when you talk about roles in a company, you frequently use 负责.
Jenny: 对的。是的。
John: So if you're learning business Chinese, you definitely have to know that word.
Jenny: 负责.
John: And what kind of partner does he need then?
