the lesson doesn't run in background anymore. If I close the application it stops. If I switzh to another part of the application it stops.  When the telephone goes in stanby mode the lesson stops. Have to find it again and find the point where I left.

The setting (lower left corner doesn't work). messages to helpdesk doesn't work

I have no idea how they can release a version that simply doesn't work. I've run a number of websites with a much smaller user base than I think CPod has, and I would NEVER release a UI so clearly broken. That's completely inexcusable and unprofessional. I would and have definitely fired people for less blatant incompetence than this.

If CPod needs the contact info of independent contractors that can get their operation up and running in a matter of days/hours, let me know -- I will be happy to provide.

Another major issue is the lack of any response from their customer service team. If this were my business, I would absolutely hold them accountable as well. A simple email/post that they acknowledge and are working on the problem would go a long way.

That said, they should just refund our subscription, and let us resubscribe once we have access to the material. Or if they don't intend to support the mobile app, then change the home page banner from "Learn Chinese online & with mobile apps" to "Learn Chinese online"

I fully agree that the app is simply not up to standard, it's given me so much headache that I've resorted to just using the website. Tech support is lacking too indeed, unanswered questions and/or complaints are just not acceptable.

Please address this ChinesePod, it's hard to recommend your product to friends when there's so many loose ends.

I have already mentioned this and there have been a number of complaints about this recently. It just seems like they are stonewalling users. Seems to be Chinesepod's MO these days.

I think this has been the norm for the past 4 or 5 years that I've been a subscriber, as soon as the ios app gets sort of stable, chinesepod changes the ios developer to another one. Each time this happens, the new developer has a lower level of professionalism, both in terms of testing, and ability to collect and analyze user requirements.

i predict we (ios users of CPod) will not get any traction either from developer or management on this community website, we will just complain to ourselves. I think that if we want something done we need to get the attention of the marketing department. It seems there is a lot of activity at Facebook.com/chinesepod these days, I think we need to make sure those guys are aware of this inexcusable situation.

does this make sense, guys, what do you think, does anyone else have an idea how to get some attention ?

I've completely given up on the app. I've been paying for it for one year now, but only had several hours use out of it in all that time. My two emails to CPOD have both gone unanswered. I just don't want to keep paying for something that the company is not providing. I'm seriously considering going down to Basic subscription next month. Basic is not nearly as good as Premium, but it's time I did something. I can't just sit stupidly back and keep paying for something I'm not getting.

Seriously, Chinesepod, you give great lessons. I've been following you since 2007, and I've loved it all. And I thank you for that! But I believe your app should not be on the Premium offering. It should be offered free to everyone as a Beta trial until all bugs can be fixed. Older versions should be available for use with every Beta trial, and also be more accessible to those of us using Android and actually living in China.

Please listen and respond to us!
