Bazza, ever looked at aert's bio? http://chinesepod.com/connections/userdetail/aert Based on his brilliant posts that guy is still far from getting old BTW: We are in the same CPod age group now.

31 is a good age. Old enough to know better but still young enough to do it anyway. By the time you are aert's age you too will be fluent in Chinese, and wise in the ways of the world, if you stick with it. Happy Birthday. RJ

My cousin give birth to a baby boy today (well yesterday now) so he'll have the same birthday as me. How cool is that? :)

Happy Birthday! And do never forget: You are the elder among our CPod tribe (in CPod user time, that is). Great honor, great responsibility. Never stop posting here, just because you achieve fluency. We would be all lost.

Maybe if we take up a collection. Everyone pays a dollar and Bazza moves to SH. Cpod can adopt him. If I were in your shoes I would already be spending my second year in SH. Sometimes you have to force yourself into a challenge. I have never regretted one of these types of challenges although many were painful at first.

Hey Bazza, Happy Birthday...a day late I believe! You should definitely move to Shanghai if you really feel it in your heart. I'm, ahem, 6 years your senior (shhhhh, don't tell anyone) and am moving to Taiwan this year. Not floating my own boat here, just saying that it's never too late to do something that you really want to do...especially when you aren't married and don't have children. I think it's good to stir the pot ever 5 or so years! You can always find a job, find ways to make money etc., AND you just might find that extra special lady:) RJBerki, you can start up a collection for me too!

Happy birthday, bazza! Gotta love those CPod age groups. I was so depressed when I had to move up a notch on my last birthday.... ;-)

Ok Cal, while Im at it Ill start one for me too. Anybody wants to donate send you fives tens and twentys and mark them Bazza, Cal, or RJ and Ill let you know how were doing. At least you live in Chicago Calkins, its a straight shot from there. I really dont mind the 13 hour flight from China to Chicago, its the waiting around for a cramped shuttle to Cleveland with the usual delay that hurts. Its takes nearly as long to get from Chicago to Cleveland as it does to get from Chicago to China. How long are you planning to stay in Taiwan again? To do Photography?

Happy be-lated Birthday Bazza, and congrats on your new second cousin (or is that second cousin once removed? whatever... hate to even think what the Chinese is for it). Cool we share the same birthmonth... yet I will always be older than you. Ack... the 28th is right around the corner too. :(

It's probably not that hard to work out in Chinese. It doesn't work on this one though, as it only goes 3 deep. http://www.mandarintools.com/family.html I think it will be mother's younger sister's daughter's son. ;)

Just had a idea on how to remember all the family titles, just make a list of everyone in your own family by name then work out the correct title for each one of them.

Bazza, 祝你生日快乐! And don't forget, you're still not too old to move to Shanghai. :)
