Hi Casie, Thanks for your enthusiastic participation on ChinesePod, Will you still have time to be on ChinesePod when you get back to school I hope? Meteor gets changed to shooting star when we talk about wishes in the US, I don't know about other places. Is wishing on meteor/shooting stars native to China, part of a worldwide phenomenon or relatively recent? What is TEM8?

Hi obitoddkenobi I learn more from Chinesepod and you guys during this period. And i think i will try to sign in Chinesepod and see you guys when i have spare time after class. I will miss everyone here. Thanks obitoddkenobi, i know both "shooting star" and "falling star" mean 流星now. I think wishing on shooting stars native to China partly because of a worldwide phenomenon and partly because of relatively recent. TEM8 is Test for English Major 8.

Hi Cassie! Well, I'm a rat, but I'm not sure what exactly that means! Connie says a rat shouldn't get married this year. No problem, there. And someone told me at work that I should wear red underwear. Not sure about that one, though. Anything else?

Hi RonlnDC well, this year is your本命年(ben3ming4nian2=one's year of birth considered in relation to the 12 Terrestrial Branches) since you were born in the year of rat. And there is a saying that people who is in 本命年 should better not get married this year, but it just a saying and depend on yourself. As for red underwear or red girdle, people say they will bring you good luck this year. By the way, i bet you must know the red color means happiness in China and that is why it should be red underwear or red girdle. Hope it can help ! Cassie

stock up on red underwear boy!!! you better have a bunch so you're not so stinky! And remember, don't wash them with your tidy-whities (which you shouldn't be wearing anyway) and t-shirts... or thou shall be a pink rat this year. That is my advice & horiscope for you. Can pay the man up front.
