Fun with furniture advertisments

Yes, a popular Swedish furniture retail chain distributes its advertisment brochures here and you can learn lots of relevant vocab even in times your notebook is blocked. For example 毕利 (Billy) or 伊娃 (Ivar). Soon and you know how to translate pretty much all Scandinavian first names.

And by the way find out that the same piece of shelf costs 30% more in Beijing than in Europe. And that in a country were you can get high-quality furniture for close to nothing without the need to build it yourself.

The DIY part is obviously not just a profane method for saving costs here but rather an expression of lifestyle that you are willing to pay a premium for.

I've been to (remote) parts of SE Asia where plastic mass-produced items were more expensive than hand-crafted wood products. Scarcity, supply, demand and all that I suppose.
