Howdy,

I probably missed it, but how do I download WLCP? And is adding flashcard capabilities on the roadmap in the next few months? Thanks.

Check out the "Instructions for Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu users" on the WLCP web page. In those instructions is a link to download and install Python, which you'll need to install before WLCP.  Following that is a link to download either of the latest two versions of WLCP.

Every time I make a new release, there's a link at the bottom of the announcement.

And regarding your second question, there has not been any plans to add flash cards.  Can you maybe describe in more detail what you were thinking of?

If you mean interactive flash cards, I don't see what purpose that would serve, since WLCP is intended to aid users who are away from a computer, but I'm open to discussing it (if that's what you meant).

Or, were you thinking of downloading characters or sentences and creating documents which can be printed to make flash cards?  I think that would be a good idea, although I'm not much of a flash card user, so I would definitely need your input to figure out how to design these flash cards.

thanks for the reply.  i'll download the software first, then give you feedback regarding the flashcards.  My original comment on the flashcards was based on understanding that this is still for a PC/Mac.  But if the software's really for a mobile device (blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc), then i'll rethink the flashcard idea.

By the way, i've been having problems using the flashcards on cpod anyway.  when you use the cards in character mode, or pinyin mode,  about 1/3 of the time, I get gibberish instead of pinyin. I'm not sure what's happening, and it happens inconsistently. Not sure if this is something you can suggest a quick fix for, or that other users have complained about, but i wanted to bring it up now, because this problem is why i thought that the WLCP software might be a better solution if it had flashcards that worked.

Thanks again for the reply.
