October 11, 2008, 11:48 AMyeah, i agree about the telephone flirting. on the record, it didn't sound like the girl who picked up the phone was flirting with zhang liang. she sounded more like a friend.
i was thinking, for the prop that the person uses to switch from lady to man in the bar dialogue, we could use a hat! (well, if clem or me were to play that role, we'll just let our hair down for playing the girl and put a hat on with the hair tied up when playing a guy.) for joseph, not sure about it though, we could always find a pink coloured wig....??? :D :D

On this dialogue, we need someone to be the telephone voice as well. We can add a cheesy comic effect to it.
Who wants to play the angry Lili ?

I think I know what you are talking about Joseph ! :-) These three dialogues can be really funny to play. I am ok to meet on friday, it is time now to choose our roles and to think about our interpretation.
I was thinking about your proposition to do Zhang Liang's friend, Joseph. But then, does that mean that you have to play Lili? It would be cool though, for once a guy who plays a girl ! Hey that s an idea ! What do you think Joseph ? :-)
I am kidding, I don't mind being the angry Lili. who would you guys prefer to play ?

September 29, 2008, 01:51 AMHi Joseph and Clemetine! Yes, I agree that the person who plays Lili should also play the friend of Zhang Liang. I was thinking maybe we should assign one person to play Lili, another person to play Zhang Liang and have the third person play all the other characters.
Hope you guys are having a great holiday! Should we arrange to meet and do a practise session when classes start again?

The conniving friend is leading her plan to perfection as it finally leads to the break up. She is on the co-worker's side all the way.
One thing weird though between script and actual Chinese pod dialogue : They say Zhang tian ming sounded nervous, I don't think he did on the record. So let's try to make him sound real nervous, what do you think ?

Yes i agree, in "the seeking comfort dialogue" it should start with uneasiness and then more and more close...but she always has to stop herself because she still thinks about Zhang Liang and thinks that what she is doing is wrong.
Yes, in the phone call, Zhang Liang has to be very nervous, because he has something to hide ! And one of us can be the "other girl" and make sounds in the background while he talks to Lili like "ouhou Zhang Liang, what are you doing ? Ouhou I like you". ..This kind of thing. Or we can see her playing with him and not making any sounds, but making faces ...To add the cheesy effect.
And in the bar fight, Lili and his friend can be seen as flirting a bit, and his friend could have some lipstick on one jaw that he will quickly try to hide when Zhang Liang arrives !

October 10, 2008, 03:47 AMhi guys! oh wow, i missed out on a lot here! actually, if you're reading this today, do you want to meet next tuesday after lecture class and talk about who will act who? i reckon it would be really funny if joseph played angry lili. I think lili and zhang liang still like each other, but they're too stubborn to admit it even if they've broken up.
i love that lipstick idea! i was also thinking lili's friend should act so lovesick towards her that he is practically like a puppydog following her around. i don't know about lili flirting with her friend though 'cause i thought she still had feelings for zhang liang.

I'm not sure about the telephone flirting though, I reckon Lili misunterprete the situation, but that her misinterpretation leads to Zhang Liang beeing ill at ease...

October 08, 2008, 01:43 PM- for the seeking comfort dialogue, the length does not make it an easy one at all. The content is not to difficult.
I blocked on "kai xin guo" a bit. It is translated as pistachio which was weird. Just to realise that kai xin means joyful and happy or something close...
They sound quite comfident with one another through the whole dialogue. maybe we could act them more ill at ease first, and more and more confident as the dialogue goes ?
-The bar dialogue is great as you said. Something good can be done with it. We have to find a prop/desquise to switch from a guy to a lady and back to a guy real quick...

But this one will be complicated to play as there are four characters. I think that the person who will do LILI will have to do the friend of Zhang Liang who starts the fight. And maybe this person won't play the second one where there is just Lili and his old friend. What do you think ?
