June 26, 2007, 02:29 AMWhy not just 我是[country]人. 从...来 might be a bit strange to read in a postcard, since the 来 part would suggest you've come from someplace, which wouldn't be the case if you're writing from home.

June 25, 2007, 10:24 AMHi Italiana, generally you might use 从。。。来 (的) : cóng (place of origin) lái 我是从美国来的 wǒ shì cóng měiguó lái de : I'm from the US (place of origin, birth) 我从美国来了 wǒ cóng měiguó lái le : I (have) come from the US (meaning I was there, now I'm here; not implying origin) HIH :)
