G'day! Kim from Australia. I'm have just started doing a CELTA course here and would like to hear comments from people teaching English in China as that's where I plan to be by the end of the year. I'm after advice on the best and worst places to teach as I want to avoid pitfalls. Also advice on how to start learning Chinese. Cheers, Kim

I posted on another board a good way to learn chinese is to have a Chinese penpal. I got a lot of penpals from Beijing, China on www.penpalparty.com Then you can email, chat, and write letters to each other. It helped me learn the Hanzi well when I write letters to them. My advice though would be to reply to more than one person on the website incase the first person doen't reply. I really enjoy ChinesePod thoug because you can download the MP3 lessons and listen to them on the go. It is very conveinent and I learn Chinese quickly when I play them over and over. ~italiana
