Let's get 中文巴 going again!

Look at me, speaking English at 中文巴!

Okay, this is actually a bit of an effort to re-jump start the community.  The last few days have been relatively (but of course not completely) silent around here.  I'm hoping some of you will take Monday as a good day to make a new thread, especially those of you who have not done so before.  If you are not so ambitious today, of course feel free to find an old thread here and comment.  (I must confess I especially hope that some of you take a look at this and this, but that is blatant self promotion.)

Anyway, the way I look at it, if we aren't willing to at least try to communicate in Chinese, why do we bother studying Chinese at all?  *nudge* *nudge*

大伙儿,加油!

Just let it be. What if the conversations page is filled with "中文吧" threads? Newbie/Elementary learners would be scared! haha

Hi xiaophil

Don't worry. The group "中文吧" dies hard as long as you keep posting new threads. I think a lot of guys are waiting for them.

xiaophil, I think of course when it was brand new there were a lot of 中文吧 comments. But just because it has tappered off, does not mean it is over. The other night I was thinking about a post I might put up, reviewing the language in my head and thinking of the best way to present it. It will take consious effort for us to keep the group active, but to think it will always be like the heady days of the first week is unrealistic and perhaps unsustainable. And what we want is to have the group be sustainable, 对不对?

But Changye, there isn't anything wrong with encouraging a little more Chinese at a Chinese learning place, is there?  The way I see it, being passive means making little progress.  That said, I'm not berating people.  I'm just trying to, as I just said, encourage.  If people don't want to snatch this opportunity, I'll look elsewhere.

I'm an English learner . From primary school, I have been learning it for more than 10 years . What I have learned ? Nothing , I can just read . But listening , written , and speaking are poor . Some days ago I found the website , it seemed that it's more useful to me than the English learning website .

The Translation : 我是英语学习者.从小学到现在我已经学了超过10年的英语.但是我几乎什么都没学到,我可以阅读,但是我的听说,写作都很差.几天前我发现了这个网站.看起来它比那些英语学习网站更有用.

Who can translate the Chinese characters to English again ? I just want to see how you express the same meaning .

Xiaophil, I've had 中文吧 on my mind always. Sorry I haven't shown up lately, I'm currently a bit short of the energy it takes me. I will be back though.

And don't worry, it may become quiet at times but it won't go away.
中文吧 started because there was a need for it.

下次再见

Hey, no problem and no apologies are needed.  I'm just trying to gently raise the bar, but people should do what they want to do.  What happens, happens.

@xiaophil

Wow, you are a young man in a hurry.  I guess that I am more than twice your age - I should be the one in a hurry (less time left.)

I think that you started a great thing and it will be here as long as ChinesePod pays its rent.  :-)  All poddies thank you.

Don't sweat.  It's that time of year.  I'm hoping that I will have more time for ChinesePod in January - between now and then it is 'silly season' (another Australianism - just furthering your English education.)
