It feels like a constant pressure fueling with Chinese. The last year of CPod vocab echos back to me from all directions. I will start reporting on any interesting findings as soon as I found some sleep.

September 11, 2007, 04:26 AMWhere are you staying in Beijing? If your wife's from Beijing I'm sure you'll get the local tour. But if you're hunting for recommendations.... One of the nicest parts of Beijing is a hutong cafe district downtown on a street called 南锣鼓巷 (Nan Luogu Xiang). This is right in between Guijie (the hotpot/Sichuan/lantern street) and the Drum Tower. The area is gentrifying rapidly, but it makes for a great casual afternoon out. My favourite place is called Sandglass (沙漏) just north of the Drama Academy. The managers are two very cool guys from Inner Mongolia. Check it out if you have the chance.

September 08, 2007, 06:58 AMYes, but I haven"t installed my 无线路由器 yet and therefore have to use the "family PC" which is amost all the time blocked... The connection is fair (measured in CPod lesson download times).

And I can use a German keyboard layout + have all my ressources at hand. But it is already 9.30. Time for the first restaurant visit today! John: I will try my best, although I am not quite at the level to detect localisms. Still happy when I understand what I have already learned before... Man2Toe: 其实我不太喜欢馒头。 怎么办?
