About er2 儿 。。。I usually use it depending on the first time I hear a word。 我会说一店儿。。。 我喜欢玩儿..。Would it be better to learn to speak without using it?  Does it matter if I sometimes do or don't?  My goal is to be very understandable to native speakers.  谢谢。。

你好Paul,

It doesnt matter if you dont use 儿, coz not all of the work can be added by er. I think the best way is just like what you said, use it depending on the first time you hear or see a word. Here are some of the most commonly words/phrases with 儿 you might know:

一会儿 = a while

好玩儿=interesting

哥们儿=(A pet name given to a good friend) buddy

聊天儿=liao2tian1r (chat)

。。。味儿=wei4r (kind of smell or taste):

香味儿、辣味儿etc.

Hi Helen, I am not sure who to ask this.  Sometimes when I go to vocabulary tab and then click 'writing practice', Skritter opens but the characters do not load.  Who should I address this issue to?  Thanks,

Also, thank you for being patient during our first lesson. I was nervous and forgot what I learned.  But I promise I will improve with time and practice.  Thanks so much!

你好Paul!

Hope you are having a great 周末!

他们 can be both refering to a group that is mixed men and women and the  plural of man, while 她们 only refers to the plural of woman.

Hope that helps! :)
