我最大的颜色的问题是怎么把“brow"翻译成中文!

My biggest problem with Chinese color words is the lack of a simple, generic word for "brown" in Chinese.  At one time, I tried to use 咖啡色 for everything "brown," but got corrected about 2/3 of the time:《这个不算咖啡色的!》  I'm still confused on that topic, but thanks CP for giving me some more color words in my arsenal!

也应该说一般有钱的男人可不瘦!他们差不多每个晚上吃得多,喝得多,快变了胖胖的酒鬼!

But it bears mentioning that in China well-connected men tend do be fat.  Success depends on being out at karaoke bars, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. eating and drinking vast amounts to build 关系.  A friend of mine in China who quit being a school principal because to do his job he had to wine and dine someone every night - he complained he was never at home and turning into an alcoholic.  He said if he didn't go drinking with the head of the local utility, his school wouldn't get electricity.

When I lived in Nanning, I complained more than once about the lack of heating, but when I was there I never got around to buying a space heater. And now that I'm living in Silicon Valley, I never did get around to light my heater's pilot light this winter. 我穿中国睡衣就可以了!这样既节约钱又保护环境。

Chinese courses always teach you ways to evade direct questions, and this is no doubt useful, but in my experience when Chinese people asked how much money I make, and I give a vague answer, they asked me to give an exact figure. So I ended up either having to bluntly deny their request for information or just give in...
