August 27, 2007 at 11:40 PMMariama, try to pronounce your "r" like trying to say the letter y & r at the same time. Like this "yren", my Chinese friends say I pronounce it very well. It keeps the tongue off the rough of your mouth. I try to say the rhyme yrow, yrow, yrow your boat... It takes practice for us foreigners!!

August 18, 2007 at 6:45 PMI've used Pimsleurs Mandarin 4 yrs ago to learn Chinese but I've learned more in the last year studying here @ ChinesePod. Keep up the good work! (P.S. thanks Ken for mis-pronouncing some words, I'm able to figure out the spelling in pinyin - no insult intended)
