My confussion comes from the lesson "Square Dancing: Chinese Style(D2374)", where 要不然 is translated as "How about". Moreover, in the expansion section of the same lesson some examples are given with this translation.

要 不 然 can also be translated as "How about..."? In some lessons it's translated this way, but in this Qing Wen lesson only 要 不 is translated this way. Are both expressions (要 不 然 and 要 不) the same in all contexts? . Thanks
