September 23, 2009, 11:09 PMI already knew that you didn't need to use de for 我爸爸, but what about with baby. Could you say 我宝宝 or do you have to put in the de?

I tried to find it in my dictionary, but I guess it's not common enough to be there. I also could only find two example sentences in resources, not enough for me to get a true understanding. Thanks!!!

December 20, 2008, 12:51 AMI work at a preschool in the US and have aweful vacation benefits. I've worked there 2 1/2 years. The first year I had no paid vacation or sick leave. The second year I had "earned" 5 days vacation & 3 days sick (which I more than used up with all the germs going around).
My last day of work is Christmas Eve (yes, I have to work Christmas eve). I'm going back to school to become a "real" teacher in January. At least then I'll get summers off (unpaid, but the pay increase should off-set that) so I can go to China with my husband.

I would love if we could have a chinese pod (elementary or intermediate) lesson learning a tang poem.

October 28, 2009, 01:05 AMI was wondering about the use of 呢 in the second sentence of the dialogue. I know 呢 to mean basically "what about" as in 你呢? What does the 呢 in this sentence mean/add to the sentence (all these "ending sentence" words really mess me up! I always use the wrong one.)
