大家好, I am always confused with the two words 多 (duo1 = many) and 都 (dou1 = all). Not only that they sound similar, the also have a similar meaning. (at least they have the same tone!) any mnemonics?

This lesson reminds my of the sketch "Was machst du" (what are you doing) of the very famous german comedian Loriot. For those able to understand german (Ken!) here it is: http://www.myvideo.de/watch/85258 Looking forward to hear Ken and Jenny in a chinese version of it...

before taking the taxi for going home for x-mas holidays I am just sitting in front of my Outlook mail-client, filling out the out-of-office-reply: "Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, I am out of the office until 01/02/07." How to write this in chinese?

@marcosbento: > [..] Do you never associate the moon, planets > or pagan deities with the weekdays, as in the > western tradition? The characters in 星期 have the following meaning (according to DimSum Chinese Tools): 星: star, satelite, small amount 期: period of time, phase stage So the translation of monday 星期一 is: stardate one, which strongly reminds me of Captain Kirk... ;-)
