Hmmm, I'm going to have to go back and review all my pronounciation! Great DA!

The link for  Aric's show, http://www.theshanghaishow.com/ is to a website mostly consisting of links to hotels in China.  Amber, is this "Aric's new show???" Or did it get renamed to the Shanghai Diaries, which I've already found.  Thx.

Yeah, the sitdown toilets can be more scary than the squat toilets, due to the cultural refusal to sit on them.  I have never seen so many dirty, scuffed and broken (not to mention disgustingly dirty) toilet seats.  I've seen many a toilet seat hanging on by one hinge -- something you generally never see in the US.

What I really don't get is how women in high heels can maintain their balance squatting on the seat?

奇怪的:Plastic bags on bicycle seats... very common sight. If they're to provide you with a dry seat in the case of rain, I never EVER saw anyone take one off... Another theory: the seat material itself is falling apart.

A pet peeve: the bumps in the sidewalk paving stones.  If the idea is that you're supposed to stay to the right of them, ha! And they create such a walking hazard, as if extra hazards were needed!

I love these Dear Amber episodes - they convey so much cultural information!

Any suggestions on where can I go to learn more about cross talk and/or listen to more? Very cool.  While I was in Shanghai I remember hearing something that sounded a bit like rap, but it's been long enough that I can't remember if this cross talk is in fact what I was listening to... sigh.

As someone else asked, I'd love to hear more about Richard's language-acquisition story... what it's taken him to get to his current (impressive!) level.

Sorry Clay!  I hadn't made it back to the 又。。。又。。。to check for answers when I wrote this question. (Maybe I should try to figure out the RSS feeds for comments, but that topic trips up my brain.)

So, the 又。。。又。。。 structure can be used for verbs if the qualities of those verbs are very similar.  That helps enormously! Thanks!

OK, I've now listened to both the 又。。。又。。。 Qing Wen lesson as well as this one, and I'm confused about WHEN you can use 又。。。又。。。 with two verbs.  (As was indicated as a possiblity in  the 又又 lesson -- the girl on the street crying and screaming.)

So, I get that 一边 verb, 一边 verb means that both actions are happening simultaneously.  What can be said about the 又 verb 又 verb structure along those lines?

谢谢!
