February 20, 2010, 09:28 PMI just wanted to confirm there are no restrictions on using the shorthand method to express 'before' and 'after'. The supplementary vocab has the term 饭前fànqián and 饭后fànhòu. I can use this construct with any verb, correct?

In the first sentence, is 来 short for 带来 dài lái ?

September 21, 2009, 02:07 PMA grammar question that I am stumbling with at the moment, but why is there no possesive '的 de' in this sentence: 中文语法很有意思。Zhōngwén yǔfǎ hěn yǒu yìsi.I thought I had learned that all multisyllabic adjectives should be followed by '的 de'...or am I just getting confused with something else?

September 21, 2009, 12:31 PMWas interested in what Matt_C noted on the different ways to say "to go upstairs". This is what I had learned: 上楼去 shànglóuqù. So, is it true what Jenny says, that 楼上 shànglóu can also be used as the verb for "to go upstairs"?
