I miss Jenny too. :( Dilu and John are quite good too though. It's just when you get used to certain voices it feels strange to have new ones. I bet in a year or two we'll miss Dilu and John just as much if they leave. :)

So two third tones walk into a bar... and one says to the other... hey, how's it going?

:\ 哈哈.

You should try languageexchange.com too. :) You might find some people there. Good luck!

There is another newbie lesson called "Are you Ok?" which addresses how to ask if someone is hurt or not. You should check it out. :)

Actually, I meant I've heard Chinese people using it amongst each other. :) It was one of the first phrases I learned hanging out with my employer and her friends (they all only speak Mandarin amongst each other). They routinely greeted each other with ni hao ma. (Sorry my reply is so slow, I didn't realize you'd been kind enough to respond to my comment)

I find that Skritter helps me a great deal even without a tablet. But I don't JUST use Skritter. First I write the characters on a piece of paper, THEN I input them in Skritter, then I finish by writing them again on paper. Skritter helps me more with remembering tones and pinyin but it also helps to reinforce character recognition.

In this lesson says Chinese don't say Nihao ma? But I've heard this term several times... although I got the impression it wasn't being used as a question and it wasn't answered. :)
