Wow, my week will not be complete,

without some words from Poetry Pete!

I make servicemen take of their shoes here in the USA as well.  I've had roofers come and they would carry their shoes to the top floor and put them on again as they step out the window.

It would be useful if qingwen had a vocab tab for easy addition of the vocab for the week to our lists.  I realize that it would only be 1-3 words a week, but still, it would be useful.

It is a good thing I was eating while watching this.  Now I know what I want to eat when I visit China! mmmmm

I see you occasionally do it but it would be useful for all nouns if in the expansion if at least one sentence used the measure word.  Seeing them more often would help us to form a better idea of what measure words go with what nouns.

Changye,  Yeah, I have to agree.  Chinese 饼 are outstanding, just don't expect them to be anything like cookies!  I've heard ovens are few and far between in china, so it makes sense.  So it seems like most kinds of items that you'd think would be baked in the west are either fried or steamed.

In my experience, Chinese people have no idea about/experience with western style baking.  Never trust something baked by a Chinese person.  I had to give some friends of mine a several hour lesson on how to make cookies (from the recipe on the back of the chocolate chips).  Their cookies, pre-instruction, came out like rocks!

When I was young, I went through exactly this kind of experience over and over again, monologues in English, of course.  You guys do a great job with your real life scenarios!

JP, in my experience, some Chinese ladies hit men as a sign of affection.  She's probably flirting with you.
