You know, I can't ever remember seeing someone wearing a green hat, other than for St. Patrick's Day. And, I live in Canada, where it doesn't have any special meaning. Considering that this is such a big faux pas in China, can you even buy a green hat there?

Uhh, there is a lot of "girl, you have to train your man" material out there, too. Sexism goes both ways! :) Do a quick google on "you have to train your man" and bask in the "treat men as dogs" glory.

Either way, you reap what you sow in relationships. If you start out with a toxic attitude towards the people you want to attract, you'll inevitably end up with a messy end. 种瓜得瓜, 种豆得豆.

I'm a little confused here. 他说潇潇是他的女朋友，不过她天天不给他说吗？这是什么样的女朋友? Is he using "girlfriend" to just mean a girl that he wants to date? Or does it mean that she was his girlfriend and now she's broken it off with him?

So, for 白学了 it means that you successfully learned something, but that finally there was no point to learning it? It's a statement of something in the past.

Can it also mean that you are currently wasting your time studying now? For example: 你现在白学日文.

Also, does it imply that you're wasting your time because you'll never use it, or can it also mean you're wasting your time because you'll never be able to do it?

I found the tests interesting. I like the idea, but I think the focus is strange. ChinesePod always seemed to market itself as the fast, easy way to master spoken Chinese. But the tests focus heavily on the written language. Don't get me wrong, reading/writing is very important, and I'm working on it. But it will probably not reflect a person's abilities in what level of podcast they can follow and absorb.

When is it better to use 痛 vs. 疼?

Doubling the words will take some getting used to. It reminds me of the old "The Mighty Hercules" cartoon. One of Hercules' friends had the annoying habit of repeating everything he said. Repeating everything he said.

By the way, the scream at the beginning of the dialog made me chuckle. :^)

I'm confused about the point of this parade.  It seems like a really big, impressive deal.  But people are forbidden from going to watch it?  So... what's the point?
