Posted on: Studying Japanese
June 24, 2007 at 1:26 PMMy chinese isn't good enough to understand this one...but I was interested in the title. Started learning chinese ages ago, but I became interested in the history of japanese photography, so started to learn japanese recently. I find chinese much easier, and I prefer the way it sounds. But still its fun to learn both languages, they kind of encourage each other. If I learn something in chinese I wanna learn the japanese too, and vice versa. However I am a nervous type when it comes to ACTUALLY talking to people in the respective language, so conversations with myself are about as useful as my learning is becoming. (I always feel like chinese or japanese people will be annoyed if I try to speak in their language with them, while in London).

June 24, 2007 at 10:10 AMying guo ren (英国人)= British right? not English. Is England 'ying ge lan'? Is it ok to say 'ying ge lan ren'? People get annoyed if you consider British as English. If you are British you could be from Scotland or Wales as well as England. And some would rather not refer to themselves as 'British'.
