my non-chinese friends here in the states are incredulous when i tell them that you can't find fortune cookies in China.  I am equally incredulous when they say they went to the greatest chinese restaurant, based on fried rice and sweet and sour pork.  It's a little sad-a lot of people here know only about buffets and take-out type places.

Thank you, ChinesePod for the medical lesson. I am an ABC and also a practicing physician in the states. It is quite common for pharmacists (I am married to one) to give some basic advice, especially for over the counter medicines. As pituitary observes, perhaps the pharmacist does try to diagnose a bit more than usual, but she does refer her to the physician as well. thanks again for the medical conversation!
